So, let’s talk about customer service from God’s perspective. Let’s start with Scripture first. If you have your Bibles, please turn to Proverbs 3:5-6 Common English Bible.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Common English Bible
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
don’t rely on your own intelligence.
6 Know him in all your paths,
and he will keep your ways straight.
Let’s talk about customer service. People have diverse personalities. So we need to know how to relate to the diverse people we encounter in our businesses. This is a tip for people who engage in business. I engage in business, business strategy. And I also own a small business. So, we need to know how to manage people with diverse personalities when they come into our shops, stores, or wherever we engage with them.
We do not know how to manage people of our own strengths, though I need to clarify. We do not know how to manage people of our own strengths or abilities, but we will know what to do in every situation by trusting God. And you know what? Talking about trusting God and knowing what to do in every situation, Brother Paul gives us a piece of advice. If you open your Bible to First Corinthians 9:22, Paul admonishes us to be all things to all people.
1 Corinthians 9:22 Common English Bible
22 I act weak to the weak, so I can recruit the weak. I have become all things to all people, so I could save some by all possible means.
How do you attract people, not just in the packaging of the product, or the presentation of the products, or the promotion of the products, but also in the way you market that product? The way you market the product is key. The way you market that product is as important as the product itself. Because if we don’t make the product attractive, people will walk away. This is all part of customer service. You may think, oh, that doesn’t matter! It does matter! Because when somebody is going by, you want them to say, “those oranges look good,” or, “this package looks good.” The way you arrange a shelf in your store matters!
We must know how to serve our customers, whether they walk into a store, whether they buy or do not buy anything. You know, even if they don’t pay anything, don’t immediately curse them out. Remember, you have no control over how people will react to you. But you do have control over how you choose to respond.
