In case you missed Part One of my travel adventures from Arkansas to Miami, read it here! Leaving Memphis, Tenessee, I headed toward Atlanta! And stayed in Atlanta for two nights of sleep! Wonderful time hanging out with old high school mates (Sisters) way into the night without concern that Miami was still 10 hours or so away from Atlanta! I was living in the moment! The great Maya Angelou said it so succinctly:
“Be present in all things and thankful for all things.”
― Maya Angelou

I even got an opportunity to braid my hair and get a “real” haircut in Atlanta! I say real haircut because I currently live in an area where you often do not find great barbers! Please don’t blame me! I am from Chicago, where there are barbers who know how to cut “black hair”!

Heading out towards Miami was magical! After I got after the initial reaction to the gas shortage, it was a smooth drive to Miami! I stopped to check the tires in Gainsville, Florida! I stumbled upon this quote that sums up my perception of Miami, Florida!
“Having Miami in a state like Florida makes no sense. You may as well put Los Angeles in the middle of Arkansas. It’s not connected, it’s just bright and loud and big and… there.”
― Caspar Vega
I am sharing photos of my adventure at Wynwood Walls in Miami, Florida!

What else did I do in Miami? I visited Babylon Restaurant in South Beach! I also got an opportunity to visit Bachour in Coral Gables and even got to take a photo with the owner of Bachour, Antonio Bachour himself! We did a short clip at Bachour! The deserts! Oh, so yummy!

The highlight of my Miami visit was my daughter’s graduation from the University of Miami! The graduation ceremony itself was at the Hard Rock Stadium. Guess what! She was the commencement speaker at the 1 pm ET graduation on Friday, May 14th, 2021! Here’s the Commencement Speech!
“Now, as I stand before you today. I can confidently say that each and every one of you is a diamond…And we did exactly that: we became the best of beings because we simply had the courage to see ourselves as an unshakeable diamond.” – Abigail Adeleke
What do I think of Miami, Florida? This is what I think:
“It is Paris that makes one feel poetic, Rome that makes one feel heroic, yet it is Miami that makes one feel young.”
― Pietros Maneos
“Some years ago I proposed a new tourism-promotion slogan for Miami. I even had a bumper sticker made. It said: ‘Come back to Miami! We Weren’t Shooting at YOU’.”
― Dave Barry
So, See you later, Miami! We are coming back to Miami!
