“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” Lao Tzu. “Just try to make sure that you step in the right direction.”

In my case, it has been a journey. It has been 3379 miles (5438 km), crisscrossing Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida (Miami) for ten days! What was my adventure like? It started on Mother’s Day when I drove from Northwest Arkansas to Memphis, Tennessee. Staying at The Memphian, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel was beautiful! Located in the Memphis Theater District, this midtown hotel, home to great art and Complicated Pilgrim (the lobby restaurant), I found out that the hotel had only been open (May 4, 2021) a few days before I stayed there!
Also, I had an opportunity to visit the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, Tennessee. The National Civil Rights Museum was established in 1991 and located at the former Lorraine Motel, where James Earl Ray assassinated civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on April 4, 1968.
Here are some of the photos from my stay at The Memphian!
I capture my visit to the National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis in the following photos!

Here’s a short clip I made during my visit to the National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Motel, Memphis, Tennessee. James Earl Ray assassinated Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on the balcony in front of Room 306 (his room) of the Lorraine motel, on April 4, 1968, the day after he gave this powerful speech, “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop,” on April 3, 1968.
