“The more that people know how they fit on a team, the more they will desire to properly make the most of their fit and maximize their contribution.” ~ John C. Maxwell
It is one thing to invite me to a party, it is a different thing for me to feel welcome when I arrive at the party. This analogy speaks volumes! Whether or not I feel welcome at a party is a determining factor in how long I will stay.
Such is the case with many diversity and inclusion initiatives. I know companies are pushing for diversity and inclusion initiatives. However, the companies need to put measures in place to make the diverse employees feel welcome, supported, and create opportunities for career advancement.
Absent these structures in place, the companies will become revolving doors. Diverse candidates will come and diverse candidates will rotate out! ~ Dr. Abi Adeleke
