Key Scripture:
“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10 (NIV)
Devotional Message:
In our fast-paced world, stillness can feel counterproductive. We’re wired to hustle, fix, and figure it out. But God calls us into stillness—not as a sign of passivity, but as a position of trust. In Psalm 46, God reminds us that He is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. And sometimes the most faith-filled thing we can do is stop striving and start trusting.
Isaiah 26:3 (NIV)
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”
“Sometimes God allows what he hates to accomplish what he loves.” — Joni Eareckson Tada
Stillness doesn’t mean silence or inactivity. It’s a spiritual posture—a declaration that we believe God is sovereign, working behind the scenes even when we can’t see it. When we choose to pause and acknowledge His presence, we make space for His peace to reign over our chaos. In stillness, we realign with His truth: He is God, and He is in control.
Exodus 14:14 (NLT)
“The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.”
“True faith rests upon the character of God and asks no further proof than the moral perfections of the One who cannot lie.” — A.W. Tozer
Reflection Question:
Where in your life is God inviting you to stop striving and start trusting?
One-Line Prayer:
Lord, teach me to rest in Your presence and trust Your plan.
You were made to thrive—not just survive.
