“Leadership isn’t about being seen. It’s about being steady enough for others to stand on.”
In November 2017, I lost my dad.
It was one of those moments that shifts everything, how you see life, work, and leadership.
He was a quiet force. A business mind with deep integrity. A man who led without needing to be seen.
As I reflected on who he was, I realized leadership isn’t about position or title. It’s about service, consistency, and heart.
That moment reshaped how I lead today. I learned that leadership is about lifting others, not standing above them. It’s about how you make people feel seen, valued, and capable even when no one’s watching.
My faith anchored me, but purpose gave me direction; that’s where legacy begins. Faith anchored me through that season of loss. It helped me rebuild purpose and see leadership as something sacred, a calling to serve rather than a climb to the top.
What Leadership Means to Me Now
- Faith-led: Every decision begins with prayer and conviction.
- Purpose-driven: Leadership should build legacy, not ego.
- Service-oriented: The true measure of success is how well you empower others.
Reflection for You
Who shaped your understanding of leadership? What values did they model that you still carry forward today?
Take a moment to reflect, and maybe, to thank them.
“True leadership isn’t loud. It’s lived.”
