Today was going to be a day comprising some strategy and planning sessions on Zoom! A day to update my social media calendar, and handle some business-related matters. I was not planning to write a blog post till I stumbled upon this quote:
“You can’t wait till life isn’t hard anymore before you decide to be happy.”
NIghtBirde, America’s Got Talent, 2021
To put this in context, watch this YouTube video of one of the contestants of America’s Got Talent, An American talent show that seeks to do that, seek talent!
What did I learn from watching this video clip?
I learned that it is ok not to be ok!
“dear today,
I spend all of you pretending I’m okay when I’m not, pretending I’m happy when I’m not, pretending about everything to everyone.”
Nina LaCour
“am a child of God. I am loved. I have a future. God is for me.”
― Sheila Walsh
As a Christian, everyone tells you to pretend that “all is well” everytime! Before, you attempt to preach to me, I know what the Bible says:
Jeremiah 29:11 Modern English Version
11 For I know the plans that I have for you, says the Lord, plans for peace and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Proverbs 3:5 Modern English Version
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and lean not on your own understanding
Isaiah 41:10 Modern English Version
10 Do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
yes, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand
1 Peter 5:7 Modern English Version
7 Cast all your care upon Him, because He cares for you.
2 Corinthians 4:18 Modern English Version
18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
I also know there are times, that we need to seek help! As in mental health treatment or help! There is no shame in seeking help through therapy! So, what is the role of a therapist? The answer is below!
“The role of the therapist is to reflect the being/accepting self that was never allowed to be in the borderline.”
― Michael Adzema
Will you see a therapist if you need to?
“Probably the wisest words that were ever uttered to me. Came from a therapist. I was sitting in her office, crying my eyes out. . . and she said, “So let me get this straight. You base your personal happiness on things entirely out of your control.”
― Laura Munson
I promised in a recent post, to share some of the flowers from our garden! Well, this is what we’ve been up to recently!
